Raipur: State Khel Alankaran Award for year 2018 being held at September 13 at Medical College auditorium Raipur. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh will felicitate the sports stars from different genre of the state on this big event.
‘Preparation of the award ceremony is in full swing. Previously the felicitation was being held at the occasion of National Sports Day on August 29 but due to some reasons its got rescheduled on September 13. state sports department have selected 74 sportspersons for this year award ceremony. The players, who have clinched medals at national level championship, would also be given cash prizes during the ceremony.
The awards to be given are; Shahid Rajiv Pandey Award,   Kaushal Yadav Award,  Pankaj Vikram Award ,Veer Hanuman Singh Award and  Shahid Vinod Choubey Award.
According   to official information received from the department apart from 74 sportspersons first time ever mountaineer also included in the list of felicitation. Besides Chhattisgarh Tennis Association President and Vice president of Chhattisgarh Olympic association, Vikram Singh Sisodiya who have represented the India in Common Wealth Games- 2018 as Chief-de-Mission at Goldcoast, and Hockey Coach, Bhushan Saw will also bestowed with trophies on the occasion. Mountaineer Rahul Gupta who is the only mountaineer of Chhattisgarh who scaled the Mount Everest would also felicitate by special award.
After the controversy on Chief Ministers Trophy previous year, this time for this award, Softball in Senior category men’s and in women’s category junior, Karate has been selected. Besides the players of Basketball, Muay Thai, Badminton, Archery, Kayaking-Canoeing, Fencing, Tennis, Athletics, Para Olympic games in different category shall be given prize.
