Chief Minister Raman Singh sanctions Rs 109 crores in Korba district

Raipur: Chief Minister Raman Singh has sanctioned Rs 109 crores in Madanpur of Korba district and laid the foundation stone of 54 development works in the region on Wednesday.
Addressing the public gathering in Madanpur as a part of Atal Vikas Yatra Chief Minister Raman Singh said the government has made women empowerment as its keynote for the state. Under the SKY scheme, more than 50 lakhs women are being empowered by receiving the smartphones. So far, 20 lakhs mobile has been distributed in the state.
Besides the state government has launched several schemes for girls’ education, women’s health and economic independence, under which women across the state are moving forward in all areas, he said.
Singh said that Korba district is rich in mineral resources and has made a significant contribution in the development of Chhattisgarh. The District Mineral Trust established in mineral-rich districts in the state is providing financial aid for various development works.  
Singh also informed that a large education hub worth Rs 150 crore is being built in Dantewada and Bijapur. The Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) is being established in Korba with the funds from District Mineral Trust. Both the institutions will be very beneficial for the development of the state.

Chief Minister Raman Singh distributed LED bulbs to 744 families of tribal-dominated hilly Korba and Birhore region of the state under the Ujala Scheme to spread the message of energy efficiency in the state. Besides announced that all the raw houses that were destroyed during wild tusker’s attack in the region will be made permanent on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Raman Singh laid the foundation stone of 54 development works of Rs 109 crores in the region. He laid the foundation stone of upgradation and reconstruction work of 21.50 kilometers Pali-Silli Marg at a cost of approximately Rs 96.59 crore.
Singh distributed materials and relief funds to more than 10 thousand beneficiaries in the region.These included distribution of LED bulbs, 9772 tiffin carriers to workers, fishnets and ice boxes to fish farmers, vegetable seed kits to farmers, tricycle to disables and many more such freebies.  
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Raman Singh sanctioned Rs 214 crore for 46 development works in Ramanujganj of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. Singh laid the foundation for 33 works of Rs 125.66 crore and 13 different works of Rs 88 crore in the region. He also distributed bonus of Rs 140 crore to the tendupatta collectors of the district.
