Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: Former BJP Minister Ganesh Ram Bhagat has returned to the party fold. Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) state president Dharamlal Kaushik has terminated the expulsion of one of the senior and former BJP minister Ganesh Ram Bhagat of Jashpur district.
Ganesh Ram Bhagat was former Minister of Housing and Environment, Tribal, Backward and Minority Welfare. The party has issued a press release today providing the information. In the last assembly election of 2013, Bhagat was expelled from the party due to contesting the election against a BJP party candidate.
A party spokesperson said that the return Ganesh Ram Bhagat may be proved beneficial to the party on the reserved seats in Jashpur district as Bhagat has a good influence on Jashpur and Surguja seats. This decision has also made clear one thing that the suggestions of Jashpur MP Ranvijay Singh Judeo are now being heard by the party in the Jashpur district.
In 2013 assembly election Bhagat rebelled and contested against a party candidate after he was denied ticket from BJP. Although he left the party but he didn’t stop working for the welfare of the tribals in the area under Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. Bhagat also continued to protest against Christian Missionary on the issue of religion conversion by them.
Besides Bhagat spoke in favour of BJP and justified party’s statement during the pathalgadi movement. After joining the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, it was believed that he may return to the party, but he couldn’t as Yudhveer Singh Judev along with some other party members were against this decision. However, MP Ranvijay Singh Judeo agreed for his return in the party.
Couple of days ago, National General Secretary of BJP Saudan Singh went to his residence for paying condolence on the demise of Bhagat’s wife of . Since then, it was believed by the party members that he may return to the party. Later on Monday state party president Dharamlal Kaushik issued an order for his return to the party fold. With his return the BJP will also get benefit in Sitapur and Lundra assembly as well.
