School timings delay due to cold weather in the state capital

Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: In the wake of harsh cold weather and dense fog, the District Education Officer (DEO) has directed the schools across the state capital to change their timings of morning shift to 8 am instead of 7 am.DEO Raipur AN Banjare said that that the parents had informed that due to excessive cold in the district, the school children were facing troubles to reach schools early in the morning at 7 am due to the cold weather. In the view of this, the school timings have been altered as there was a risk of short attendance due to the chilling weather in the district. Now the first shifts in the schools will start from 8 am instead of 7 am. However, the timing of second shifts will remain unaltered.As per the instructions of DEO, this regulatory will be applicable for all the schools across the district including private and government and timing will continue till January 15, 2019, in the district. Banjare has issued a circular in this regard to principals of all the government, grant-in-aid and private schools of the state capital.According to a release from Meteorological Centre Raipur, the state capital had recorded a minimum temperature of 12.3 degree Celsius and maximum temperature of 25.8degree Celsius on Friday.
