S.I.T. to probe Jhiram Ghati incident

Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: The State Government had constituted a Special Investigative Team (S.I.T) on Wednesday to probe the killings at Jhiram Ghati Darba police station limits on May 25, 2013.
According to a circular issued by the Police Headquarters, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Jagdalpur Vivekananda Sinha will head the Investigating team. The order was issued at the behest of Director General of Police D. M. Awasthi.
Amid swearing-in as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel had made an announcement regarding his government’s decision to set up an SIT to probe the conspiracy of Jhiram Ghati attack in which 29 people including frontline Congress leaders were killed.
The newly formed Congress government on Wednesday issued orders constituting the SIT team which comprises ten senior officers including IG Vivekananda Sinha as SIT in-charge, DIG Naxal operations P Sundarraj, commandant, security battalion ML Kotwani, deputy commandant (third battalion) Gayatri Singh, Mahasamund deputy superintendent of police Rajiv Sharma, inspector Ashish Shukla, inspector Premlal Sahu, retired DSP Narendra Sharma, retired deputy director prosecution NN Chaturvedi, legal science expert DR MK Verma.
