CHHATTISGARH TIMES: Preceeding the November 12th assembly elections to be held in Bastar region, naxalites have again ripped through Dantewada,where news just came in that 2 jawans have been martyared in a fierce gun battle that ensued between forces and the extremists. In spite of tall commitments from ruling party leaders the nuisance of red terror continues as it is the third incident in the recent past where they have struck mercilessly. On the 27th of October an IED blast triggered in Basaguda killing 5 security personnel followed by a near fatal attack on a BJP leader’s residence on the 28th. Sources also say that cameramen from Delhi Doordarshan who came for coverage of some programme has also been killed by naxalites. The government must act swiftly as it’s high time the bloodshed of innocents at the hands of these guerrillas should be dealt with an iron fist.
