EC issues notice to Tourism Minister Dayal Das Baghel for performing pooja at polling booth

Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: Election Commission issued a notice to Culture and Tourism Minister Dayal Das Baghel for performing “pooja” and some other religious rituals at polling booth before casting his vote.
A video went viral on the internet where the cabinet minister and BJP candidate in fray from Navagarh (SC) Dayal Das Baghel was seen performing puja at a polling booth in his Navagarh constituency in Bemetara district before casting his vote in the last phase of state assembly polls on Tuesday. In the video Baghel is seen entering the polling booth with an incense stick (agarbatti) in his hand and performing holy ritual all across the booth. He completed the ritual by breaking coconut and then casted his vote.
State Cheif Electoral Officer said that this case is of Tuesday but it came into light today. After which directions were given to the Returning Officer and a notice regarding this has been sent to Tourism Minister Dayal das Baghel.
