About 60 per cent of the newly elected MLAs in Telangana are graduates and above

Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: As many as 58.8 per cent of the newly elected MLAs of Telangana are graduate or have higher qualifications—setting a record for the most educated representatives in the country. 88 out of 119 elected MLAs have pursued higher education till college.
According to information, as many as 2 MLAs hold Ph.D.’s, 43 MLAs are graduates, and 26 are postgraduates while 27 have diplomas or have passed intermediate. Besides, the others left have received schooling almost till class 10th.
Among the most educated MLA’s of Telangana— two MLAs including Ramesh Chennamaneni (TRS) and Gadari Kishore Kumar (TRS) who won Vemulawada and Thungathurthy (SC) assembly constituencies respectively holds PhD degrees.
While as many as four MLAs including Dr M Sanjay Kumar and Dr Methuku who won their Jagital and Vikarabad seats, holds Masters in Ophthalmology and surgery respectively. Besides, as many as nine MLAs are engineers and about twelve MLAs have degrees in law.
Most of the elected MLAs have pursued their higher education from renowned national and international colleges including Osmania University, University of Hyderabad, Kakatiya University, Gulkbarga University, Kakatiya Medical College and New York University.
Apart from this, 24 MLAs have passed class XII, 16 have passed class X, 2 have passed class VIII, 3 have passed class V and one of them is literate.
