Lands acquired for Tata Steel Plant to be returned to farmers soon

Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: As per the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s instructions, the land acquisition that was done in Lohandiguda area of tribal Bastar district for Tata Steel Plant will be returned to farmers soon.
Bhupesh Baghel on Monday mentioned about his promise to farmers and said that the officials have been directed to complete the necessary process for this as soon as possible and to present proposal in the context in upcoming cabinet meeting.
It is noteworthy that Congress National President Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had assured the farmers earlier, during their Bastar tour that, the farmers of Lohandiguda area will get their lands back. In manifesto also, it was promised to the farmers that the agricultural lands acquired for industrial purpose, on which no project was established within five years of acquisition, will be returned to the farmers.
As per this point of the manifesto, Baghel has given instructions to the officials to start the process required for returning the acquired lands of farmers in 10 villages for Tata Steel Plant in Bastar district. This land was acquired for Tata Steel in February 2008 and December 2008. The villages in which land acquisition was done includes village Chhindgaon, village Kumhli, Chhindgaon, Beliyapal, Bandaji, Daabpal, Badeparoda, Belur and Sirisguda of Lohandiguda Tehsil and village Takarguda under Tokapal Tehsil. The company concerned has not yet established any industry on this land.cabinet meeting.
