Budding artists felicitated in Bilaspur

Raipur: As many as 350 artists from Bilaspur were felicitated for showcasing their talents and spreading social awareness on various issues including forest and environmental conservation through their paintings.
A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Oxygen, organized a painting competition last week in which more than 350 budding artists from various schools in Bilaspur participated. Themes like forest and environmental conservation, promotion of environmental protection, rainwater conservation were vibrantly expressed and brushed by the artists on their drawing sheets.
The foundation also organized an exhibition of the paintings made by the participants at Rotary Bhawan in Bilaspur on Tuesday which was inaugurated by Rajkumar Tiwari.
A prize distribution ceremony was also held where the winners of the competition in three categories along with the participants were awarded for their amazing work.
The participants were divided in three categories name Group A consisting of students from Nursery to class four, Group B consisting of students from class six to class eight and Group C consisting of students from class nine to class twelve.
First and second position holders in each category were felicitated with a certificate and Rs five thousand and Rs three thousand respectively. Besides as many as twenty participants were given Rs one thousand as a consolation prize. Whereas participation certificates were given to all the enthusiasts.
The competition Co-Ordinator V.V. Raman Kiran informed that Harshita Nopane won first prize in Group A while Prachi Jaiswal was given the second prize. In Group B, the first prize was given to Surya Laxmi and second prize to Sania Sahu. Similarly, in group C Amit Anant got first prize and D. Likhita got the second prize in the category.
