Chief Minister Raman Singh and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal lays foundation stone for Kathghora-Mungeli-Kawardha-Dongargarh railway line

Kawardha: Chief Minister Raman Singh and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal laid the foundation stone for construction work of Kathghora-Mungeli-Kawardha-Dongargarh railway line at Kabirdham district headquarters in Kawardha on Saturday.
Besides Chief Minister Raman Singh performed bhoomipujan for the commencement of construction work of about 295 kilometers long railway line.
A department official informed that the total cost sanctioned for this project is about Rs 5950.54 crore and the target is to complete the project in about 53 months. The establishment of this railway line people of five districts including Korba, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Kawardha, and Rajnandgaon will get passenger train facility.
He said that as many as 25 railway stations will be constructed on this railway line. Besides railway stations will also be built in Katghora, Ratanpur, Mungeli, Kawardha, and Khairagarh.
The survey work for this project is already completed while the work of land acquisition is in progress. The project has three shareholders while the project was approved by the Central Cabinet in September 2018, the official informed.
Chief Minister Raman Singh and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also flagged off Korba-Raipur Hasdeo Express from here through video conferencing. The express left for Korba railway station from Raipur.
Commerce and Industry Minister Amar Agarwal, Forest and Law Minister Mahesh Gagra, Lok Sabha MP from Rajnandgaon Abhishek Singh, along with many other ministers and department officials were present at the event.
