Surrendered Maoist couple cast vote in Narayanpur

Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: A Maoist couple who surrendered four years ago, reached with full enthusiasm and smile on their faces at a polling booth in Narayanpur district to contribute their part in strengthening the democracy of the state and cast their votes.
The Maoist couple Mainnuram and Rajbatti came holding her little daughter in her arms at the No. 49 polling booth and cast votes with all smiling on their faces.
The duo self-surrendered before police to join the main stream of development in December 2014. Rajbatti was once the commander of “Kiskodo Dalam” (LOS) group of Maoists. Mainnuram was once a militia member of this group, who is currently working as a mason. The couple is blessed with a baby girl and is now living their normal lives happily.
The duo said that after leaving the Maoist organization, the rehabilitation of the government helped them a lot to connect with the main stream and lead a normal and happy life. They told that the life before 4 years was like living in chaos and horror. After joining the mainstream, we came to know what freedom is.
According to the sources, through the Rehabilitation Policy of the Government, necessary aid was also provided to the couple including a plot to build their house along with some money to lead a happy life ahead.
