Raipur: State Governments’ Sports and Youth Welfare Department will be declaring list of excellent sportspersons soon. For this, applications have been invited from sportspersons of the state till December 31, 2018. Before declaration of excellent sportspersons of the state, applications of sportspersons associated with sports under Olympics, Asiad, Common Wealth Games, National Games and University-level Tournaments will be considered.
Candidates can apply through online Application form which is available on Sports and Youth Welfare Department website www.sportsyw.cg.gov.in. After online registration, applicants will have to submit the self-attested hard copy of the application at Directorate of SPorts and Youth Welfare, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel International Hockey Stadium, GE Road Raipur by December 31, 2018.
Officials of Sports and Youth Welfare Department informed today that eligibility criteria for sportspersons to secure a place in this list are as follows: sportspersons, who have played on behalf of any recognized sports unit under Chhattisgarh State, or the ones who have won sports award of senior category under the then Madhya Pradesh Government’s Sports and Youth Welfare Department, or have been adorned with Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Puruskar/Arjun Award or Vikram Award. Sportsperson, who have been adored with Sports Award by Chhattisgarh Government for senior category, or Maharaja Praveerchandra Bhanjdev Award, Shaheed Rajeev Pandey Award.
Sportspersons, who represented any sports unit of Chhattisgarh Government and have won medals in senior category of Olympics/ international tournament/ Common Wealth Games, Asiad, Asian Championship. Sportsperson, who have won gold/silver/bronze medal in senior category of National Championship and National Grames, while representing sports unit of Chhattisgarh. Sportspersons, who were part of team of two or more members and have women medals as a team in related sports, will also be eligible to apply.
In addition to fulfilment of any one of the aforementioned criteria, sportsperson should also meet the age-limit criteria of government services as on December 31 of the year in which the list of excellent sportspersons will be released. Also the applicant should be a domicile of Chhattisgarh.
According to the officials, following are the facilities to be provided to excellent sportspersons on the list to be released- certificate from General Administration Department, Sportspersons, who have won medals in Olympic, Asiad, Common Wealth, Asian Championship Tournament, will be appointed under State Government’s Police Department (including Home Guard Department), Forest Department, Jail Department, Commercial Tax Department under Excise Department, School Education Department, Higher Education, Technical Education Department.
Besides in some departments Direct Recruitment will also be done by government.
