Kedarnath movie banned in Uttrakhand
Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: Surrounded by various controversies, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan debut film Kedarnath has been banned in Uttrakhand state.
According to information the district magistrates of Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar passed an order on Thursday imposing a ban on the screening of the movie stating that the movie apprehends disruption of law and order. However, after an intensive discussion a ban was imposed in the screening of film in the entire state.
Uttrakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj who was the head of four member committee formed to review the movie said that I am against using the name of Kedarnath ji for a movie portraying love affair in people from different communities. People come for Moksha to Kedarnath and using the name for a wrong purpose cannot be justified.
He said that the state government will make stringent law to ensure such an act is not repeated in future. We will come up with a bond to be filled by filmmakers to make a commitment that they will not make a movie which is against state or sentiments of people. We may even ask for the script of the movie.
The teaser of the movie was released on October 29. On November 1 Ajay posted his long message on his Facebook wall claiming that the movie was promoting “Love Jihad.” His views for the support of several others, who too wrote that the content shown in the film teaser was against the sentiments of religion and people.
