Piyush Mishra adds a touch of genius to the Third Day of Rasm Rang Theatre Fest

Raipur's Muktakash Manch witnessed the assemblage of huge number of Art Lovers on the Third Day of the Four Day Theatre Fest- Rasm Rang

The venue was echoed by slogans like ‘Inquilaab Zindabaad‘ and ‘Simon Go Back‘ as the artists performed for the play Gagan Damama Bajyo written by Piyush Mishra himself. The guiding presence of Piyush Mishra added glamour and limelight to the play. The versatile artist during his brief introduction with the audience talked about his life as a struggler, today’s youth, his perception of Bhagat Singh as a youth icon and various other topics surrounding art and theatre. The show stealer though was his much loved poetry and specially his famous ‘Woh aam bhala kya kaam hua‘ as a reply to Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s Kuch Ishq Kiya Kuch Kaam Kiya.
The play ‘Gagan Damama Bajyo‘ is also considered one of his best works with a great detail to the freedom struggle and specially the minute observation of Bhagat Singh. Besides being well written, the play was equally well directed and enacted with the major performers being Abhishek Chaudhary (Bhagat Singh), Bhavani Shankar Tiwari (Sukhdev), Nirmal (Rajguru), Prakash Bharti (Chandrashekhar Azaad), Suhas Bansod (Shiv Verma) and even the director Heera Manikpuri as Markad.
The Four Day fest ended on Friday with the play ‘Jayaz Hatyare’ written by Nobel Prize winning writer Albayer Kamu. The play presented the struggle and duell faced by revolutionaries.
In a nutshell, Rasm Rang 2019 was a treat to watch for all the theatre lovers around the town. Rang Shrinkhla Natya Manch (RSNM) thanked everyone who helped in the successful conduct of the Theatre Fest and said that there’s a lot more coming in the near future.
