Raipur: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah while releasing the party’s manifesto “Nava Chhattisgarh” in the state capital on Saturday said that the BJP government has fulfilled the promises made in the last three election party’s manifesto. Similarly, if the party is voted back to power, the party will again fulfill its promises made in the current manifesto.
While releasing the manifesto, Chief Minister Raman Singh promised to make the state free of Naxalism. He also promised to provide a pension of Rs 1000 per month to farmers and landless labourers aged above 60 years and to provide more than two lakh new pump connections to the farmers in the next five years.
Earlier, the convener of BJP’s manifesto drafting committee Brijmohan Agarwal said that this manifesto has been prepared keeping in view the “Atal Drishti Patra” of 2025. The feelings and desires of more than two and half million people of Chhattisgarh have been given place in the party’s manifesto.
Key points of the manifesto include:-
• Construction of small dams in the state and deepening of the stand dams to ensure and increase proper irrigation facilities
• Purchase of oilseeds and pulses from farmers at minimum support price
• Increase minimum support price of forest produce by 1.5 per cent
• Rapid efforts to develop Chhattisgarh as a state of organic farming
• Guru Ghasidas and Amar Shahid Gundadhur Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe children
• Establishment of “haat” markets for purchase and sale of forest produce
• Pacca houses for rural and urban families
• Doubling the amount given under “Noni Suraksha Yojana” to Rs 2 lakh
• Free cycles to all students who enrol in Class 9th
• Free uniforms and textbooks to all students till class 12th
• Free scooty to meritorious girl students for ease in transportation
• Interest free loans up to Rs 2 lakh for women for business and Rs 5 lakh to self-help groups
• All district hospitals to be upgraded to multi-speciality hospitals and super-speciality hospital to be built in Ambikapur and Jagdalpur
• Skill up gradation allowance to the youth to ensure employment (unemployment allowance)
• Establishment of “Entrepreneurship Master Fund “of Rs 200 crore
• New University in the state for the development of Hindi and Chhattisgarhi languages
• Rs 1000 per month medical allowance to pensioners
• Rs 5 lakh health insurance for poor families and up to 1 lakh health insurance for other families
• Formation of journalist and photojournalist welfare board
• Enforcement of Advocate Protection Act
• Construction of residential colonies for government employees in all Block Headquarters
• Construction of a special system for quick resolution of complaints regarding police services
• Development of Raipur-Atal Nagar-Bhilai-Durg-Rajnandgaon Group as State Capital Region
• Business insurance up to 5 lakh for small businessmen
• Development of Chhattisgarh as a famous tourist destination worldwide
• Construction of Chhattisgarh Film City
• Micro-blogging site to connect Chhattisgarhi people from all over the world
