Chhattisgarh Times Raipur: Chief Election Commissioner of India OP Rawat directed about the guidelines to be followed in the state for the upcoming assembly elections to all the political parties on Thursday.
Addressing a meeting with all the political parties at New Circuit House in the state capital, OP Rawat took suggestions from all the political parties for the forthcoming assembly polls.
During the meeting several crucial issues relating to the law and order for Assembly polls, implementation of Code of Conduct, EVM-vvpat, monitoring of poll expenditure were discussed.
The representatives of Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Communist Party of India (Marxists), Communist Party of India, Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) participated in the meeting.
Several senior officers- Election Commissioners of India Sunil Arora and Ashok Lawasa, Deputy Election Commissioners— Umesh Sinha, Sudeep Jain, Chandrabhushan Kumar, Communication Affairs Commissioner Dheerendr Ojha, Principal Secretary N. N. Butalia, State Chief Electoral Officer Subrath Sahoo were also present during the meeting.
